Existing AI editors are often web-only or lack integration into a real editing timeline. Palmier is a native Mac app that integrates generative models into a traditional timeline, users place, trim, and AI-generate clips in one editor. It's open-source (541 commits on GitHub) and features built-in AI "agents" (LLMs) to assist. It's very new (coming out of stealth early 2026), Mac-specific, and so far has little press, aimed at pro creators and indie filmmakers on Mac who want to leverage AI models in final-cut-style workflows. An active GitHub (541 commits as of mid-2026) and frequent beta updates on their blog show ongoing development; the Mac app is available for download (2026).
