This policy explains, in plain language, what information Discavit collects and how we use it during this early (MVP) stage. We aim to collect only what we need to run the platform.

1. Information you provide

When you create an account we collect your email address and basic profile details. When you submit a product or comment, we collect the content you provide (product details, logos, screenshots, descriptions, comments).

2. Information we collect automatically

To make discovery work, we record activity such as product views, outbound clicks, saves, upvotes and follows. This powers counts, trending and personalized feeds. We may also collect basic technical data (like log and device information) to keep the service running and secure.

3. How we use information

To operate, maintain and improve Discavit.
To power discovery: feeds, trending, recommendations and analytics.
To show creators aggregate stats about their own products.
To respond to your support requests.
To keep the platform safe and prevent abuse.

4. What's public vs private

Public: your profile, the products you submit, comments, and aggregate save and upvote counts. Private: detailed view and click metrics are visible only to the relevant product owner and platform admins, not to other users.

5. How we store data

Discavit runs on Supabase (database, authentication and storage). Your data is stored there with access controls in place. We take reasonable measures to protect it, though no online service can be guaranteed to be perfectly secure.

6. Cookies and local storage

We use cookies and your browser's local storage for essential functions: keeping you signed in, remembering preferences (like theme), recently-visited products and recent searches to personalize your feed. We don't sell this information.

7. Third parties

Discavit links to third-party products and websites that have their own privacy practices; this policy doesn't cover them. We use service providers (such as our hosting and database provider) to run the platform, and we don't sell your personal information.

8. Your choices

You can edit your profile and the products you've submitted at any time. To access, correct or delete your account or data, email discavit@gmail.com and we'll help.

9. Children

Discavit isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Discavit grows. We'll revise the "last updated" date above when we do.
